Run a Pilot

You don’t need a 12-month strategy, invest thousands of hours and involve all departments in planning. You need one team that cares, one challenge that matters, a lean process, and one idea that can move. That’s your pilot.

The goal of a pilot isn’t to prove everything works. It’s to surface what doesn’t and make the next rollout 10x easier. A minimal, fast pilot gives you the chance to fix what's broken before you scale and if you’re lucky you can already prove some impact. Keep it small, but actionable with the flywheel cycle: collect, engage, manage and measure.

Pick a team like IT, Product, Frontline Manufacturing or HR with a clear pain point. Maybe too many manual steps in a routine process? A costly production process that could use some new thinking? Raising customer satisfaction in a specific segment? or ideas for a product or feature for an older product line?

If one idea gets selected or implemented, share it. If none do, at least now you know why. That’s still progress.

Better to find out if your process works with one team in 4 weeks than across the whole company after 12 months, right?
