Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a free version of Ideanote?
Are you on the lookout for free idea sharing platform? Ideanote is here for you, you can just create a free workspace.
Free includes most features to collect ideas, engage people, manage ideas, measure impact and automate your innovation. It comes with some usage limits so it is best used as a playground for trying out Ideanote or for individuals.
Workspaces that do not purchase a paid plan will automatically be downgraded to the Free plan when their trial or subscription ends, unless they are over certain usage thresholds or have unpaid invoices in which case the workspace is locked.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes, you can cancel subscriptions at any time. If you do, you'll be downgraded to the Free plan immediately, where you can still collect ideas - just with fewer features.
If there is more than one day until your renewal date, we will prorate the remaining balance on your workspace as a credit. You can use that credit towards a reactivation of your paid subscription in the future.
Can I change my plan later?
With Ideanote you are never locked into a plan that does not fit. You can add or remove users, change plans, and downgrade to the Free plan at any time.
How do I get started?
Create a free workspace to get started. We'll ask you for a few basic details. Then you're in.
What is a workspace?
A workspace is the home for your team, project or business on Ideanote. You can create idea collections on your ideanote.io workspace subdomain for free or add upgrade to connect your custom domain.
How is my data protected?
We take security very seriously. Your data is protected with HTTPS enforcement and Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.3 with SHA-256 hashing and RSA-2048 signing to keep them private during transit. At rest they are kept safe and encrypted in our SOC2 compliant Google Cloud Kubernetes Datacenter.
On top of the security features of our datacenter we have:
- 128-bit SSL encryption of all data transfer in our platform.
- Daily backups of all your data, in case anything goes wrong.
- Security protocols where we work.
Can I trial Ideanote before paying?
Sure! Start your trial here. You can test out our paid plans for free for up to 5 days, no credit card required. After that you can continue to use the free plan or contact us to extend your trial.
How will we be charged for new users?
You’ll be charged a prorated amount for new users for the remainder of the current billing period.
As an example, suppose your team is on the Basic plan, which costs $5 USD per active user per month (when billed monthly). You add a new member 10 days into your billing period with 20 days remaining in the month. The per-day cost for each user is $5 divided by 30, so we’ll make a one-time charge of $3.33 ($5 divided by 30 days times 20 days) to the credit card on file.
How do multi-year plans compare to standard pricing?
Multi-year commitments will realize savings of 5% for a 2-year term and 10% for a 3-year term, compared to the yearly subscription rate. Payments are still made annually. The discount is applied to each annual payment.
