Delegate Ownership

Delegate Ownership

You can’t be the bottleneck. If your innovation program runs through a single person, it won’t scale. As activity grows, you need others to take ownership—especially as idea collection owners and decision-makers.

That means giving people admin rights, responsibility, and trust. Let department leads own their space, run their own idea collections, and make decisions. When teams feel real ownership, they’re more invested in results. They move faster, ask better questions, and follow through without waiting on you.

You don’t have to step back entirely but your role shifts from managing to enabling. Create a structure, share best practices, and give others the tools they need to succeed on their own.
