Acceptable Use Policy

The Acceptable Use Policy below (“Acceptable Use Policy”) supplements and amends the Ideanote Terms of Service (“ToS”). If there is any conflict between this Acceptable Use Policy and the Terms of Service, the applicable terms in the Acceptable Use Policy will prevail.

This Policy aims to outline the acceptable and unacceptable conduct while using our Services. Failure to comply may result in suspension or termination of your access. This Policy is subject to change, so please review it periodically.

Ideanote empowers people to share ideas - but to do so we must ensure that our Service is not misused and that People respect each other.

When an individual or group becomes threatening or abusive to our Ideanote may need to take action to protect our employees or business. These actions may include:

  • Limiting access to Ideanote support
  • Offboarding from Ideanote
  • Reporting to authorities

By using our Service, you agree not to:

  • Commercialize the Service in any way, including reselling or leasing without permission.
  • Process third-party data that you're not authorized to handle.
  • Hack, modify, or unlawfully access the Service and its systems.
  • Violate privacy laws or any individual's privacy.
  • Send unauthorized bulk emails, spam, or engage in pyramid schemes.
  • Store or share content that infringes on intellectual property rights.
  • Disrupt the Service's integrity or performance.
  • Reverse engineer or decode the Service's software.
  • Falsely claim affiliation with us or impersonate others.
  • Create multiple profiles to skirt our Acceptable Use Policy or Terms of Service (ToS).
  • Use automated means to scrape or monitor Service data.
  • Share confidential information obtained via the Service with third parties.
  • Post or transmit unlawful, hateful, or discriminatory content.
  • Knowingly upload, distribute, link to or send any malicious code.
  • Violate our ToS in any way.
  • Engage in manipulative or deceptive practices to boost user stats or rankings.
  • Use the Service for any illegal activities, including but not limited to fraud or money laundering.
  • Use the Service for any form of harassment, bullying, or stalking.
  • Record or screenshot confidential or sensitive information without consent.
  • Share, transfer, or disclose any sensitive user data without explicit authorization.
  • Generate, distribute, or publish defamatory, misleading, or false content.
  • Interfere with other users' enjoyment or use of the Service.
  • Exploit minors or vulnerable individuals in any manner.
  • Use the Service for any form of academic dishonesty, including cheating or plagiarism.
  • Facilitate, encourage, or participate in activities that promote discrimination based on race, religion, gender, nationality, disability, or orientation.
  • Circumvent, disable, or tamper with any security-related features of the Service.
  • Use any unauthorized third-party software to interact with the Service.
  • Use any form of data mining, robots, or other data gathering and extraction tools on the Service.
  • Encourage or induce any third party to violate these guidelines.
  • Use the Service in a way that violates any local, state, national, or international law or regulation.

Fair Usage Limits

You understand that even if or when We describe or offer our Services in certain regards as “unlimited”, this only applies to what can be expected to be fair usage of our Service. In general, for Workspaces, Accounts or API connections on our Service that experience unusual amounts of usage in any given time period, either by accident, happenstance or abuse, We reserve the right to take action to alleviate the situation or to prevent it in the future. 

If We are of the opinion that Your usage of Our Service is significantly exceeding a level that is normal for an Account or Workspace on Our Service We may contact You to alleviate the situation. We also reserve the right to throttle or suspend any affected Account, Workspace or API connection from the Service or parts of our Service at our own discretion.

Workspace Squatting

It is not allowed to squat (intentionally register and hold without the intent to use) Ideanote Workspaces  (subdomains that you register) for any purpose. Selling, buying or exchanging registered Workspaces is not allowed. Ideanote reserves the right to register and mediate ownership of Workspaces for known brands (e.g. acmecorp.ideanote.io).
